r&r radios museum tour
Randy and Rich have both been restoring old radios for a while now...Rich since early 2017 and Randy since the fall of 2017. Neither of us had an intention of collecting these things, but since we are just doing it for the enjoyment rather than as a business, we've each acquired a fairly sizable collection. We'd love to share these radios and experiences with anyone that would like to see them.
We've decided that it would be best to do this at just one of our houses, rather than to travel across town to both houses. For the most part, it would be just more of the same (or similar). While Randy's house is much smaller than Rich's, we decided to do this at Randy's house for one major reason: his house is neat and tidy...the same cannot be said of Rich's house lol. Plus, Randy is much better at displaying his collection.
AGENDA
* View the vintage electronics in Randy's house, including vintage radios, test equipment and sewing machines. We may also give a bit of a demo of the restoration/testing process.
* 3D printing demo. Rich will walk through the 3D printing process from start to finish, including a small sample print.
* Cuckoo clock display. Will has become interested in restoring vintage cuckoo clocks in the past couple of years and will be bringing a couple of samples to display
If there are more than 8 or 10 people interested in participating we will probably break it into 2 groups. Randy will display his vintage electronics collection in the house, while Rich and Will will do the 3D printing and cuckoo clock demos in the garage. When each presentation is finished, the groups will swap places and we'll repeat the demos.
We have each done a write-up to discuss our interest in these hobbies, and discuss a few of our favorite restorations. Click the links below to view those.
