I got the block and crank back from Barron's tonight (expenses).  When I called them this afternoon, the head had not returned from being welded, but between then and the time I got out of work and went to get the block and crank, it came in.  So I dropped off the new valves so they could grind them, and they said they thought they could get them done by tomorrow.  So now I need to work on getting the block masked off and painted.

I got the other carb cleaned up and ready to be rebuilt.  I need to decide what to do about the bushings for the throttle shaft in the carb body.  On the first carb, I drilled them out, but in the process I cracked the housing for one of them.  I think I'll try to patch it up with some JB Weld and see if the new bushings seat properly.  Or I might order oversized shafts and a reamer (from Moss) and ream out the old bushings to fit the new oversized shafts.  If I go this way I'll have to use one of the carbs from the first MGB I bought.  I was hoping to be able to clean them up and sell them, but I'll use one if I need to.

Some of the parts I painted in the last couple of days, including a coolant pipe that started out as a real mess, and turned out really nice.

Here's the bolts for the oil pan (missing 1).

Most of the other painted parts.  When you look at these close you can tell I'm not a professional painter, but from more than a foot away, they look great!

Another view of the painted parts.  Included are the oil pan, valve cover, air cleaner covers, side covers, generator pulley and housing, starter housing, oil filter cannister, fan pulley, and timing cover.

Here's the machined block, ready to be painted and rebuilt.

This is the water draincock for the block.  It really cleaned up nicely.
