I got the cylinder head back from Barron's, so all the machine work is now done (expenses).  I spent all day today preparing the block and head for painting by masking off areas that shouldn't be painted, cleaning the rust off the block, and cleaning the surfaces to be painted with alcohol.  I plan on getting up tomorrow morning and firing up the kerosene heater in the garage to warm it up.  Once it's warm enough I'll paint the block, head, front and rear plates, and water pump.  I'm using a self-etching primer that should be top-coated within 20 minutes, so I hope to have it all done within an hour or so.  I'll leave it in the garage all day and try to keep the temperature up high enough that it sets up enough that I can carry it back in later tomorrow night.

Once that's done, I'll still need to paint a few things, like the front pulley and its bolt, but basically I'll be ready to start rebuilding.  I'm hoping Randy can come over Thursday or Friday, and we can get the crank, cam, and pistons installed.  Once that's done, I can probably handle it from there.

Here's the stuff that's waiting to be painted.
