Yesterday we pulled the rear end out of the car, took it to the car wash and hosed it off, then took it to Randy's house, where he'll overhaul it. It came out fairly easy, and didn't look too bad. Randy said the oil that came out of it looked very good, so hopefully there won't be anything that needs replacing. We also removed the fuel tank. It's sort of dented up on the bottom, but I'll probably have to re-use it, since a new one costs $460.
Today we reassembled the front suspension. Once we got the hang
of compressing the springs it went fairly well, and the whole unit really
looks good. We still need to put the brakes and hubs on, but we decided
to wait until the unit has been re-installed on the car.
Here's the complete rear suspension after removal from the car.
Another shot of the rear suspension.
Here's a close-up view of the spring and shock mounting.
And the other side.
This is the re-assembled front suspension. Hmm, I wonder how long
I can keep it looking like this?
