Tonight I couldn't resist any longer...I tore the dash out.  It went pretty well, but there are a few bolts in places tough to get to.  I ruined the glove box in the process, so I'll have to order that.  I was going to finally call in the next order tonight, since I'm on the next month's billing cycle on my credit card, but I waited too long and VB is closed now, so I'll have to call it in tomorrow.  I'm thinking of checking to see if my father-in-law wants to help out with cleaning and polishing some of the smaller pieces, like gauges, switches, and chrome trim pieces.  That's the kind of thing I like doing, but I think he might enjoy it also, and if so, I could be working on other stuff.  If not, then I get to do it!

This shows the wiring of the after-market radio that the previous owner installed.  It verifies that he hadn't converted the car to negative earth, since the positive wire is attached to the screw at the top center of the picture, and the negative wire goes to the fuse box.

Right in the middle of this picture is a clip on the firewall that keeps the choke cable in place.

Here's one of the heater cable's mounting.

The back side of the dash.

This shows the wiring to the fuel gauge.

Wiring for the tach, speedometer, and turn indicators.

Here's the toggle switch and ignition switch wiring.

This drawing shows how I marked the wires that were attached to the ignition switch.  This is as viewed from the back side of the switch, with the top of the switch toward the bottom of the drawing (this is how I was looking at it when I made the drawing).

Another view of the toggles and ignition switch.

This shows the mounting for the water temp sending unit and oil pressure line on the firewall.
