Well, I think we're finally getting back into the swing of things. Tonight I clear coated a bunch of stuff...rear shocks, shackles for the rear springs, and a bunch of hardware. I also finished painting the axle housing and all the other parts Randy brought back. He's going to stop by tomorrow and get what he needs to reassemble the rear end. I'm going to wait until Monday to place the next parts order (money was getting tight, and Monday is the last day of the billing cycle for my credit card).
I got the certification from British Motor Heritage in England last weekend, and my fears were justified. The car was originally black with red interior! I can't convince myself that it would look good, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with red paint and black interior. Except the seats...they're red leather and don't have any tears, so I'll try to reuse them.
Here's the rear shocks after cleaning, polishing, and clear coating...they
look sharp!
This is the axle housing after painting...ready to be rebuilt!
