I got one of the seat frames completely cleaned up, painted, and ready for new leather. I haven't decided if I'll do the other one now, or wait until I get the new leather and get this one recovered, just in case I need to refer to something on the other one. There really isn't much to it, so I'll probably go ahead and redo the other one.
I found a way to polish up the windshield frame. Start with medium
to coarse emery cloth, follow that with medium wet/dry sandpaper, follow
that with fine wet/dry sandpaper, follow that with fine steel wool, then
buff. It still won't remove the deepest of the gouges, but it does
bring it up to a brilliant shine. I'll finish it with a clear spray
that Eastwood sells that is specifically for bare metal. I'm using
the same spray to top coat all the hardware that I had previously plated
in order to keep it from rusting.
Here's the finished seat frame for the passenger's side.
Another shot, with the back folded forward.
I was out at the shop yesterday and here is what the car looks like
now. They've removed the rear rotisserie bracket and set it on a
stand in order to work on the rear valence.
On the passenger's side you can see that both fenders have been repaired
and appear to be ready for paint prep.
Here you can see where they removed the rear valence.
