I've been keeping busy doing some of the little things that still needed
doing before the body comes back from the body shop. I've been able
to cross a couple of things off the "to-do" list, and have a couple of other
items almost done. The biggest things left to do are the windshield
rebuild, and getting the new leather installed on the seat frames. I'm
hoping my brother can help me with the windshield in the next week or two,
and I think I'll take the seats to a guy in Solon that's done several of them
before. I also need to paint the dash with wrinkle paint.
Here's the font license plate frame before restoration. It has some pretty good wrinkles in one side of it, so I might have to get a different one.
Another shot of the license plate frame.
Here's several shots of the interior mirror after painting.
Here's the freshly painted mirror alongside an original. The original
has a darker gold paint, but I don't know if that's just because it's old
or if it's supposed to be darker.
Here's a couple of shots of the brake master cylinder after some polishing.
It's really looking good, but I have to find a way to polish the top
where there's some raised lettering that's hard to polish around.
