We've made quite a bit of progress in the past week.  The weather has cooled significantly, but it's still been nice enough to do some work outside.  Randy has the transmission rebuilt and will bring it out tomorrow.  It'll have to sit in the basement (out of room in the garage!) until we're ready to slide it back in.  I've been working on cleaning up all the hardware and small pieces that bolt to the cross-member, as well as the cross-member itself.  I cleaned a lot of the large flat areas of the cross-member and then took it to Randy's place and we sandblasted the rest of it.  Then I primed it yesterday, and painted it last night and tonight.  It really came out nice.  I'm almost done cleaning up the hardware and small pieces, then I'll start painting them.  Then, I'll need to work on the brake calipers, and Randy is going to work on cleaning up the shocks.  I took the swivel axles and kingpins to Barron's today to have the new bushings reamed.  They didn't think they could get to it until next week, so we're going to try to dedicate Saturday, March 25 to rebuilding the front end.  Then, we'll start on the rear end.

Here's before and after shots of the bolts that mount the entire front suspension to the car.

This shot shows the position of the various pieces on the left (driver's) side of the cross-member, including the wishbone pivot, the rebound buffer, and the sping locating spigot.

This shows the same items on the other side.

Here's a shot of a uncleaned shock absorber.  Notice how dry it is...that's a good sign that they can be re-used.

Here's the cross-member immediately after painting.

And another shot.
