I had a few extra minutes, so I decided to do an update. The new windshield glass arrived today, so I need to go over to the machine shop where I dropped off the top windshield frame for some repair. He's had it for several weeks and I haven't heard a word, so I'll have to see what's up.
I finished restoring the other seat frame and gathered up all the pieces to the seats (foams, leathers, frames, etc) to get ready to take them to be re-covered. I'll try to get that done in the next few days.
The replacement tank arrived, and it was better than the first one I ordered, but still not perfect. I decided to keep it though, so I hope it looks ok when finished. I removed the fuel gauge sending unit from the old tank tonight...what a mess! The float has a leak in it, so I'll have to try to repair it, or find another one.
I haven't talked to my brother-in-law for a few weeks, so I'm not sure what the status of the bodywork is. I'll have to check.
Here's a few pictures of the fuel gauge sending unit.
This shows the small clips that are attached to the endges of the old
tank. I'm not sure if they are for afixing wiring or fueld lines.
The new tank doesn't have them, so I'll need to remove these if possible
and restore them.
Another shot of the clips on the edge of the old tank.
Here's a shot of the new carpets. I need to figure out where snaps
are supposed to be installed and get them installed, so I can go out to
the body shop to drill holes for the other side of the snap before painting
is done.
